workshop description
Abandonment Recovery Workshops
The workshops are open to the general public as well as professionals who gain CEs and experiential training by participating in the workshop.
In this workshop, Susan Anderson will present a highly effective program of emotional and spiritual healing, guiding you step-by-step through five Akeru exercises and other powerful tools to help you overcome childhood and adult abandonment trauma to find greater life and love than before. You learn to reverse the universal underlying primal wound of abandonment.
Through lots of sharing, didactics, and experiential practice, participants will have a meaningful personal experience. The workshops are highly interactive, safe, and supportive. They promote lasting bonds and profound personal growth. You learn powerful tools that overcome abandonment and its aftermath of self-defeating “outer child” patterns. You will learn:
SWIRL: The five stages of grief specific to abandonment
A mind / body process called “Akeru” that heals abandonment trauma and promotes personal growth
5 hands-on Akeru exercises that correspond to each phase of the abandonment process
How the Akeru exercises act as physical therapy for the brain to promote deep healing and positive change
How the techniques of Separation Therapy help overcome primal fear, shame, and insecurity
Techniques for reversing self-abandonment and inculcating self-love – developing a life-changing healthy new relationship with the self
Tools for identifying and overcoming Outer Child patterns of self-sabotage and “abandoholism” (attraction to the unavailable)
Biological and chemical process that underlie emotional responses to loss
Whether you are experiencing a recent break-up, lingering wounds from the past, struggling to form a lasting relationship, or your Outer Child is hampering your dreams, you will learn to reduce shame, restore your sense of self, work toward your goals, and increase your capacity for love and connection.
The Workshops & Seminars are held at universities, Zoom (inspired by Pandemic), Germany, as well as institutes of self-development such as Esalen, Kripalu, Breitenbush, Open Center, 1440 University, Art of Living Retreat Center, etc.
Professionals gain experiential training and CEs by actively participating.
“Of all human fears abandonment is the most primal,” says Susan Anderson, a psychotherapist who has specialized in helping people overcome heartbreak, loss and abandonment and its aftermath of self-sabotaging patterns for more than 30 years. “Left unresolved, this deep personal wound can linger beneath the surface where it undermines self-esteem and interferes in our relationships from within.”
Susan Anderson is a practicing psychotherapist who has devoted more than 30 years of clinical experience and groundbreaking research in working with victims of abandonment trauma, as well as training professionals.
